From Goodreads: Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.
But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.
So much for normal.
I liked Paranormalcy okay. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t make me want to tear up my keyboard reviewing it so I didn’t. It did leave me interested to read the sequel and I did and I am glad of it. Supernaturally put me on the right track for becoming a fan of this series.
The writing in Supernaturally was great, the pace was steady and the language White uses for her characters is always colorful and fun. The characters exhibited enormous growth which is exactly what I expect to see in series books. The mystery, much like in Paranormalcy, centered around the center and paranormals doing great big no-no’s but until the very end it is almost impossible for the reader to figure it all out. So none of the I already know what is going to happen syndrome here.
Supernaturally made me laugh out loud, in a good way. I was a bit remise that Lend seemed to be missing through large portions of the book but Supernaturally really was in essence about Evie growing as a character and finding out how to make good decisions.
I whole-heartedly recommend this title to any who loved Paranormalcy or those who enjoy fun and humor mixed with their paranormal YA reading.
