I shouldn’t be writing.
They’ll hurt you.
Now Kate has no choice but to prove once and for all that Grace’s death was more than just a tragic accident. But secrets haunt the halls of her elite private school. Secrets people will do anything to protect. Even if it means getting rid of the girl trying to solve a murder…
I was so excited when I got an email from Lisa and Laura asking if I wanted to review The Liar Society. I absolutely love Sourcebooks Teen Fire and jumped at the chance to read a teen whodunit to see if I could figure out the mysteries of the book before the conclusion. I have to say that I could not. Everywhere I thought the book was going turned on me and left me jaw gaping at what these two authors had written.
Kate Lowry is a great character, she is depressed that her friend is dead and is treated like a social pariah at her school and just when she starts getting into a routine she gets a startling email from her dead best friend. Kate races against a time limit to solve the mystery of Grace’s death. She always knew the fire was more than just an accident.
The Liar Society is full of boarding school awesome, secret societies, and misunderstood hot teen boys. It takes a very unique plot for me to enjoy a contemporary YA and The Liar Society has unique coming out of the author’s little pink brains.
I have absolutely no criticisms I enjoyed the mystery, the characters, and of course you all know how much I adore private and boarding school settings. The love interest was well played and I adored all of Kate’s snarky comments and the little dorky guy next door.
So if you like high concept contemporary with a fabulous mystery plot The Liar Society is perfect for you!
