In my opinion, there are not enough novels out there that deal with LGBT issues. This sounds like an awesome read. Thanks for the giveaway!

Thanks for another great post, Catherine! As I commented the other day (Wednesday, I think) about Elle's personality - I am always excited to learn more about the books I love and how they came to be, and this is definitely a book I love - written by a wonderful person AND author (the two don't always go hand-in-hand). So, yeah, I'm thrilled.

You've said some things that always need saying, and I'm definitely one of those people who hopes right along with you, every day. The world is too small and our time on it too short to spend energy in such wasteful, hateful ways. In the LGBT community and beyond - we should be supporting one another and pushing each other to be more, do more, know more.

I'm glad you paused before yelling at me, too - I'm sure most authors worry about how their works will be received, and it's the same for book bloggers (at least the serious ones). I wouldn't say what I say or do what I do if I didn't care, though - I hope that, above all, comes across in my work. Just as it does in yours. :)

I'm fascinated and drawn to books that deal with the LGBT community, particularly transgender topics. I know there are many divisions among the LGBT community and often transphobia is ever-present. I'm always on the look-out for books that present trans characters in both a realistic and positive light. There needs to be more works out there that do so.

I have this one on my wishlist! I can't wait to read it.

Thank you, Catherine, for admitting your slip. It saddens me that even among the GLBT community, they all still kind of bully one another. I'm a straight female, but for several years I've worked at a "gay bar" and worked for a doctor who did hormone therapy for M2F transitions. So I saw a bit of it all - gays dissing lesbians, bisexuals looking down on gays, etc. The transitioning ones got the most negativity though. Very sad. I have faith that one day everyone will be more accepting of people who are different!

Thanks for the giveaway!

This post really got me thinking about divisions between the LGBT community. As an insider to that community I've often witnessed those divisions first hand. Not just the divide between LGB and T but also between LG and B. You would be surprised how judgmental some people (and I want to stress some) get over bisexuality.

I also really liked the post because of this line "Because I feel it’s my job to show the world as it is, not as I wish it would be." I really respect that in an author. Good books aren't always pleasant to read, but they are honest.

So I guess to sum up I want to read this book because a) the topic interests me b) I haven't read enough books with transgender characters and c) I have a lot of respect for the author.
