Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite fairy tale is still Cinderella, but largely because it gets made over so many different ways! I’ve been wanting to read Breadcrumbs for a while!

    …which is unrelated since I know it isn’t a Cinderella tale, but it just sounds great ^_^;

Does Entwined, the retelling of the 12 dancing princesses by Heather Dixon count? I felt all warm and happy after finishing it. *sigh*

Thanks for hosting this giveaway :) Breadcrumbs seems like a sweet book.

Hmm…….isn’t this story based off the Snow Queen? I’ve read about it, and I’m pretty sure it had a happy ending. I hope this book does too. Thanks for the chance. :D

Oh, forgot. Sleeping Beauty. I LOVE that story!

  7. Gravatar

I love Snow White. The tale was always so sweet that seven dwarfs cared for her. I also love red riding hood because of the wolf :)

  8. Gravatar

I love the adventures of Aladdin! So much going on.

I think Puss in Boots may be my favorite. I just love a clever cat.

  10. Gravatar

I absolutely love any version of Beauty and the Beast!

I think my favorite it the Disney version of The Little Mermaid, can’t help it I love it :) But I love most fairy tales, I mean the girl gets the guy and it’s a happy ending, what’s not to love.

Great giveaway! I will always and forever love The Little Mermaid.

My favorite is Little Red Riding Hood! I tell it to my son every night before he goes to bed, so it’s his favorite now, too :) Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!

I think my current favorite is actually Hansel and Gretel, but I decided to look up a list of fairy-tales to see if there was any I was forgetting. I found a list that also said where they originated and was surprised to discover many of the fairy tales popular in the U.S. actually come from other places, especially France.
And there’s my interesting fact for the day :P

I’m so in to fairy tales and mythology that the idea of picking just one sort of makes me get twitchy and anxious. But one of my favorites is definitely The Girl without Hands. I don’t know why, but the feeling I got the first time I read it really stuck with me.

I wasn’t raised up with fairy tales sadly, but I knew of them. I just never had the opportunity to read them. So most of what I knew as “fairy tales” growing up were Disney-based musicals and not HCA or Grimm tales.
If I were to choose a favorite, it would have to be Little Red Riding Hood just for the fact that the Woodsman hacked open the wolf’s stomach with his axe and pulled out the recently ingested Grandmother. Pretty bad ass, Mr. Woodsman.
But if I weren’t a muggle, I’d have to go with The Tale of the Three Brothers.

I am currently reading ‘A Tale Dark and Grimm’ by Adam Gidwitz which is pretty much a retelling of sorts of Hansel and Gretel, so I must say at the moment Hansel and Gretel is number one. The book is awesome! However, if you were to ask my second-cousin, she would tell you my favorite fairy tale is Disney’s version of ‘Sleeping Beauty’ (she’s assigned us all princesses).

As a child, I was enchanted by the Old French Fairy Tales by Virginia Frances Sterrat, illustrated by Comptesse de Segur. I was equally enchanted by the art deco illustrations and the magical tale.

My favorite fairy tale will always be Jack and the Beanstalk since my father told it with all the fun voices when I was younger. I enjoyed the princess stories, but this one was different and always so interesting. Thanks for the contest!

I love Sleeping Beauty. The original and Disney-ized version. Thanks for the giveaway!

I am a major sucker for Cinderella stories! There are so many versions worldwide and it has been adopted as a part of so many different cultures.

  22. Gravatar

I loved pretty much all the fairytales, but my favorite is Beauty and the Beast. I just adore falling in love with the person inside.

  23. Gravatar

Too many to count. But Cinderella, as told by the Brothers Grimm has always been a favorite. I prefer the wish she makes on the tree by her mother’s grave rather than the Fairy Godmother version.

I’m having difficulty picking a fairy tale from the European cannon, so I’ll go with J.K. Rowling’s The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

  25. Gravatar

My favorite fairy tale is Rapunzel.

  26. Gravatar

Snow White! Loved those little dwarfs! :)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

Actually Hansel & Gretel is one of my favorites – was in an interesting adaptation of the opera once. Performed in a coffeeshop; I was the father and my boyfriend played the witch. Anyhoo, very curious about this book so I’d love to win it!

Mine is Snow White. Thanks for the chance to win! :)

That’s a tough one! I remember having to read a book of fairytales when I was in a Children’s Lit class in university. Some of them were so scary! I think my favourite has to be Hansel and Gretel. :-)

My favourite fairy tale would be… Gosh, this is hard to pick. Probably ‘The Little Mermaid’. I preferred the disney-altered version ‘cos I remembered that the original one made me cry as a kid. It’s so tragic! Great giveaway, thanks for the opportunity to enter! =)
