Wow! My local has a bathtub in the kid’s section and has had some local authors in to sign, but my heart yearns for the complete Hicklebee’s Experience. My daughters would go NUTS for the museum.

To me, Hicklebee’s looks like magic. The kind of bookstore that you dream about as a kid, where every nook and cranny is full of books that you’ve never seen before but instantly want to read, and old favorites that you cannot wait to jump into. The kind of bookstore where they know you by name, and know just the book you’re looking for, one that snags your interest from page one and won’t let you go.

The kind of place where you spend hours just looking at everything- the walls, the shelves, the people, and consider it the best afternoon you’ve had in ages.

Pure undiluted book magic that fills your heart no matter what age you happen to be.

If I were to win, I would like the book signed to Amanda, with whatever message you or Cat Valente would like to write. :)

Hicklebee’s looks like it would be a bookstore from a fairy tale, full of nooks and crannies full of books you’ve never seen before, and treasured favorites that you can’t wait to revisit. It seems like a place where they would know your name, and wouldn’t hesitate to suggest a new find that they know you would adore from first page.

It looks like a place of magic, and I know if I ever head out to the west coast, it will be a place I have to visit.

And if I were to win, I would love it to be signed to Amanda, and with whatever message you or the amazing Cat Valente would like to write.

There is just so much excitement in this post I don’t even know where to begin. I have to say, my most favorite thing? The sorting hat on the wall. That just made my morning that SOMEONE has that on their list of personal experiences. Thanks for making my morning. ;O)

Wow, what a great store–actually more than a store! My heart would belong in Hicklebee’s because I love indie stores that cater to kids and their Project Cornerstone sounds so impressive. What a gift to the local kids. If I lived in the area, I might even find myself working with Project Cornerstone, as I love to read to kids and do workshops with them. Alas, I am in NYC, and not sunny Cali!

Places like Hicklebee’s are the only reason I’d consider living on the west coast, haha. I LOVE the museum since I used to be a huge Charlotte’s Web and Lilly fan, and I can’t believe Rosemary Wells designed their very own Hicklebee bunny for them! I think it’s also very considerate how they sponsor two school libraries, and only wish I could make it out there for Ladie’s Night at Willow Glen and the various book signings. (:

Oh wow! I didn’t know about Hicklebee’s! I’m from SoCal, but on the next drive up to the California Library Association conference, we are definitely stopping! Of course, the vast array of books would be the primary draw. But, I love the Rosemary Wells apparel, too. I also like how they highlight older books that are “worth the candle.”
