Cookbook: Bookalicious needs your recipes

There is an idea I have had on the back burner for over a year and now I want to bring this dream of mine into a reality.

One in six Americans are hungry. Most individuals struggling to keep enough food on the table are not homeless. For some children, school lunches are the only source of food available. For children who do not have proper diet and nutrition, cognitive skills become impaired. How many of you were hungry in college? Children from food insecure households do not do as well in school as their peers. More than 2 million rural households experience food insecurity.

These facts are shocking and true. As book bloggers and authors we raise awareness every day for a book we loved and I want to raise that same awareness and raise some much needed funds for this cause. All proceeds that would have gone to the ‘author’ will go directly to the Feeding America Org.

A great number of us in publishing love to cook and I want to collect your recipes and edit them into a self published book that will be available as paperback from LuLu and in digital form wherever digital books are sold. But seriously guys I am going to need your help! I can also promise you a fantastic design. No paint shop covers here :D

What I need from you is an original or family recipe. In this format.

    That’s an excellent idea.

I’ll definitely try to contribute a recipe or two. I’ll have to dig out my Grandmother’s recipe box or maybe an original cupcake recipe.

Great idea! Is a twist on a traditional recipe ok? I really don’t know where the original is from, so I think I can claim it’s mine. My mom taught it to me like my mom taught her.

I would love to participate! Do the recipes have to have inexpensive ingredients? I just wanted to check before I submit a recipe.
