Hi!!! I actually loved this book, but I do agree that she should have given you a little more information about her and her friends lives at Winterhaven. The story was great though.

I have to say I always love reading your reviews. You always point out to me a completely different way of looking at a story!

As I am one of the “getting older” crowd I still hope that I don’t become too forgetful of what it was like to be young and at times foolish.

Haven is actually a very popular story for my friend’s eighth grade students.

I have to do the same when I read YA sometimes. I have to remind myself that they are teens and yeah I made a lot of stupid decisions when I was a teenager that now I think I can’t believe I did that. I have to get to this one at some point.

Great review, explaining what does and doesn’t work for you about this book!

And yes, the older you get, the more often there will be books that work for the teens that don’t work as well for you. Not all YA books by any means, but they are out there.

Every now and then I have to remind myself of the age difference between myself and characters in a YA novel. Ah, the joys of getting older.

I’m glad things got better in the latter half of the book. I’ve been kind of wary of Haven due to all the negative reviews I’ve seen, but now that you mention getting into the right mindset, I might give it a go. Thanks for the review! :)
