Spring Reading Thing

I wanted to give a quick post about an easy reading challenge that even the most unmotivated spring reader can participate in. You make a list of books you want to read between now today March 20 and June, and set to it. Here’s the cool part, you can alter your list mid challenge. Add more books, take books away, do whatever you will, there are no restrictions. So click here to go over to the Spring Reading Thing site so you can get all the official rules about posting and such.

I heard about this on my Twitter page from J. Kaye a book blogger I follow. Clicking that link will take you to her Spring Reading Thing post so you can check out her awesome list. My list is not very awesome yet but since you can change I will be adding more books, these are just so far the ones I know I will for sure be reading and most likely reviewing here.

So far my list consists of:(and in no particular order)

  1. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 5: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
  2. The Sorceress: Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott
  3. Septimus Heap: The Magykal Papers Angie Sage
  4. Dead and Gone Sookie Stackhouse book 9 by Charlaine Harris
  5. Night World No. 3: Huntress, Black Dawn, Witchlight by L J Smith
  6. Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet
  7. World Without an End by Ken Follet
  8. Katherine by Anya Seton
  9. In the Shadow of the Crown: The Tudor Queens by Jean Plaidy
  10. Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
  11. Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz

I think it is fantastic you are on book 9 of the Sookie series. I’m only on book 3. I’ve got a long way to go. You have such a great list! Jimmy and Nona are such huge Rick Riordan fans.

Thanks, I am sure it will change as I am pregnant all summer and we just moved from London to California, since our little accident my husband has said to stop looking for work until after the little parasite comes, so in comes this site and me reading like a maniac. I need to be stopped I read the first three Vampire Kisses novels yesterday in one day!

The Sookie series is great, its a bit mundane and she has way too many relationships to keep up with but after watching the show when we moved here in November and finding out oh its based on books! Hello, I ordered the first 8 and read them in order.

Thanks for turning me onto the Spring Reading Thing, it’s pretty awesome to have a reason to have a list and I feel way less nerdy about wanting to read all summer!

Looks like a great start to some spring reading! I haven’t read any of The Tudor Queens books and I’m curious to hear what they’re like.

Oh I think I have read them all! Jean Plaidy, Phillipa Gregory, and Carolly Erickson is a great place to start! If you want some recommendations on titles just let me know. I love Tudor history.

I don’t think I’ve read any of these. I keep seeing Charlaine Harris popping up on lists, but I’ve never read any of hers. I’m curious though, and I’ll have to check her out. Thanks for being part of Spring Reading Thing ’09!
